Coming Up: HTC Touch HD2 VS Motorola Droid X

If you read my previous article on the death of innovation in mobile technology, you will notice I spoke of the Droid X as being a copy of the HD2 (or Evo4G, depending how you look at it). Well it seems the copy is finally in my hands and ready to be put against the original. In this upcoming comparisons we I will touch on many aspects of the devices and make sure to be as fair and unbiased as I can be (which I always am).

Verizon Clearing The Deck

http://www.wmexperts.com/verizons-w…e-end-life-list Every Windows Mobile device that Verizon is currently offering, including the HTC Touch Pro 2 and the Samsung Omnia 2, will be off the shelf by the first quarter of next year according to a leaked end-of-life document. You can take this one of two ways – either Verizon is completely fed up with Microsoft after the Kin debacle, or they’re placing a big bet on Windows Phone 7.

Verizon’s Windows Phone "End of Life" list

A leaked “end of life” list has surfaced from Verizon Wireless that takes every Windows Phones off Verizon’s shelves. According to the document the HTC Touch Pro 2 has seen it’s last days (EOL 6/29/2010) while the HTC Imagio , Ozone and Samsung Omnia 2 have their days seriously numbered (EOL 3/31/2011).

Verizon Touch Pro 2 no longer being sold? Cue the bugle…

Say it ain’t so! While we don’t have official word from Verizon, it appears that the Touch Pro 2’s run has unexpectedly come to halt, at least for online sales. When we (and a few others) go to the Verizon Wireless site , enter our zip and look under Windows Mobile devices, we see the venerable Ozone , Imagio , Omnia II and Fathom , but no Touch Pro 2

Verizon ETF Settlement upheld

Verizon’s ETF lawsuit has apparently come to a close with a California Appeals Court upholding a $21 million refund that will go to about 175,000 customers. The lawsuit came about when customers challenged Verizon’s Early Termination Fees. The plaintiffs claimed that Verizon violated California consumer protection laws and similar State and Federal laws by imposing flat ETF’s

Verizon KIN, AT&T Pure see price drops

Verizon has announced price cuts for the KIN One and KIN Two. The KIN One dropped from $49 to $29, and KIN Two fall the way from $99 to $49.

PC Magazine’s Sascha Segan Goes Hands On With Windows Phone 7

Since this is the launch week for the Verizon/Motorola/Google Android Droid X and Apple’s iPhone 4, Microsoft trotted out a prototype Samsung phone running Windows Phone 7 last night to show folks that they’re still in the smartphone game.” Like we’ve been reading over the past week, Microsoft is starting to show Windows Phone 7 on real hardware – though still prototype designs – and giving a select few the opportunity to experience what the new OS has to offer.
